Decoding the Emblem

 Oss..!!

An emblem is a identity. It grabs attention, makes a strong first impression, is the foundation of a brand, is memorable, separates you from competition, fosters brand loyalty, and is expected by your audience.

And here is our emblem.

The emblem above, symbolizes Okinawa Shorinryu Karate - Ayan Dojo - India. It was exclusively designed by our President and Technical Director Shihan C. Nandakumar.

Inner most part of the emblem holds a place for the Sun. It symbolizes power, growth, health, passion and cycle of life. Moreover, the Homeland of Karate, Okinawa in Japan, is the land of raising sun. It also indicates our time of practice, that is early in the morning.

Below it, is the fist. On the first sight, it symbolizes a punch. The two golden points are varma points, Vedi Piralgai Varmam. It is present at the dorsal venous network and dorsal metacarpal vein. In our style of practise, those two varma points are the ones which get in and deliver our force on the opponent.

Adjacent to them, on the either sides of the fist are the Wings of Phoenix. Phoenix is a Greek mythological bird, which raises from it's own ashes. The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, resurrection and life after death, and in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology it is associated with the sun god.

Below them is the Japanese term for Okinawa Shorinryu.

At last, the emblem is bounded by the rope. It signifies help and the possibility of climbing to new summits in waking life. Ropes are one of the ascension symbols, since they provide the means, as well as standing for the desire, to ascend.

Hope you found that useful..!!
